Rover 10 Special Engine rebuild

Post by oilmagnet477 » Wed Sep 14, 2011 5:59 pm

Hi folks
I have a bit of a puzzle. I'm currently stripping my spare engine in order to rebuild it with repaired head.

I'm planning to get the block crack tested before re-assembly. I know that this engine has previously been bored out to 30 thou but with the sump off I've noticed that the roman numerals on the con rods do not tally with the numbers on the bottom of the crank.

I don't know why this is the case but my question is does it matter? Should I note the existing order and put back as is or should I put them back as they should have been in the first place?

As ever all advice much appreciated

Many thanks
