leaf springs-part number

Post by hguss » Mon Sep 08, 2025 7:09 pm

Hello
I'd like to replace the leaf springs on my P2 Tourer. I'm in contact with a manufacturer, who wants to know the part numbers. I have a P2 parts book, but I can't find anything about the Tourer. Does anyone know this part numbers? Thanks.

There is a supplement for the 12 tourer at the end of the 1939-47 parts list. Due to the lighter weight of the 12 tourer, part numbers 07967 and 07968 that are actually 10hp springs, were used.

Further information at http://www.rover-forum.thersr.co.uk/vie ... 1603#p9545

The dimensions for the 10hp in mm are 1082.675 mm (length) and 152.4mm (height)
Best regards

Hello Mike

Could you please also give me the part numbers for the front springs?

The manufactor stated 07109 for the near side, 38mm wide 8 leaves.

Thank you

Helmuth

Hello Helmuth,

10hp springs are only used on the rear axle of 12 tourers, the front axle uses 12 Saloon springs.

According to the master parts list, 10hp front springs, part numbers 07108 (off side) and 07109 (nearside) were both replaced by 260359 for 10 hp cars.

12hp saloons use front springs part numbers 07976 (nearside) and 07977 (off side), both were replaced by part number 260355.

The 1939-1947 parts list supplement for 1947 (model year) 12 tourers, lists no differences for the Front Springs, so the 12 saloon front springs should be fitted to your car.

Hope this helps

Regards
Mike
