P3 75 Front Seat reverse /Door Panels

Post by benironhorse » Wed Mar 02, 2016 10:22 pm

I''m currently attempting to source material for the reverse of the front seats (Green leather interior) and the facings for the door pockets . It appears to be some type of plain green moquette or early coarse Velour .Whilst I'm not totally precious about originality ,I'd like to maintain the "feel" and texture of the original.

I've contacted the usual UK suppliers ,the nearest I can find is a Sage Green but it's too much of a contrast to the leather upholstery Any advice would be greatly apprectiated

Best Regards

Finding this could be difficult as the main demand for moquette is for Jaguar colours, just as it is for many other trim items. Have you tried Martrim of Cheshire?
Another possibility is to look at the range of colours available in Dralon, short runs of which can often be found at low cost on market stalls selling fabrics. We trimmed at least one of these P3 seat sets using thin carpet and it worked well. A much wider range of colours is available in carpeting than in moquette.

Thanks for the advice .The Sage Green was I believe a Jaguar colour and is simply too much of a contrast .I'll certainly follow up the Draylon /carpet route. Martrim were helpful and forwarded samples ,unfortunately no match
