solex carburetor.

Post by deckell » Thu Feb 06, 2014 11:03 am

Sorry folks for being a nuisance, can some one give me some advice on what i have done wrong.i have replaced all the gaskets on the solex carburetor on my p3 75 taking particular care not to loose the two small glass balls and lay all parts out as they were removed in order so as not to get them mixed up.after replacing the carburetor on the manifold, on the first try the motor fired up straight away but i now have a high pitched whistle at idle what can be causing this, has any one had this same issue before. thanking you in anticipation regards Derrick.Smith

Sounds like it is drawing air somewhere. Use some light oil around the joints to try and locate the leak

That crazy nut at the back between the carb and the rocker cover is favorite, it's a pain to get tight.
