Hey guys my Rover is pretty much perfect apart from the fact i can't get teh bloody wheels off , ive contacted a rover garage who sent me a I security nut remover but that hasnt worked : / has anyone got any tips or advice to help me get them off so i can either have the correct nut or put normal bolts on the wheels so i can change them without having to worry every trip if i get a puncture im screwed

This must happen quite a lot although none of our cars will ever suffer from this!. Arc Welding another nut on top or a sharp cold chisel may start it off - get some speare nust first though

There are several products on the market but what you should be looking out for is something like this
They come in different sizes so make sure you get the correct one for your car
Your local garage can usually remove them for a small fee

Thanks!, ive not idea what a air impact wrench is tho : /
I was thinking going to a garage and just getting him to remove em and replace em with normal ones, as tbh i dont think anyone would actually jack my entire car up to steal some 10 year old alloys : / lol

I'd really like to meet the man who would steal 4 10 year old rover alloys, its possible but i think they would rather steal some nicer better conditioned ones from a better car. Or maybe if this is possible i will get 4 new security bolts and not loose the key like the previous owner

An impact wrench is the sort of item that tyre shops use to remove wheel nuts. Impact Wrench
The item in the link above screws on to your locknuts by means of a left hand thread and as it tightens onto the top of the locknut it loostens it from the wheel. I would have a word with your local garage and see if they can help, if not a local Kwik Fit should have the correct tools for the job.
It might be worth going to a scrapyard before hand and getting 4 plain nuts (to replace the locking nuts) before trying to remove the locknuts.

Those cordless impact drivers are getting quite popular these days although I use my air driven one

I had the same problem, local garage sorted that for me, I still have the remains of the nut as a reminder

Yeah umm its a round hole with two little groves sticking out, which looks like it would fit but it wont go over the nut like its slightly too small47p2 wrote:
