Re: Rover P4 diffs
Hi Andy,
The majority of P4's have a 4.3:1 ratio diff but there are some with 3.9:1 (non overdrive 90's and all 95's) and I think that some 60's were fitted with 4.7:1.
The 4.7:1 was also fitted to the majority of Series 1, 2 & 3 Land Rovers
I believe that in general the P5 also had 4.3:1 but again some were fitted with 3.9:1
The P5B was fitted with a 3.5:1 as was the original Range Rover, Discovery 1 and relatively early coil sprung 90's & 110 LR's.
These are all interchangeable I believe there was a design change during later production of the 3.54:1 diff so I am not certain how interchangeable these later ones are, but the majority of them would fit.
Which P4 model are you thinking of changing the ratio in?
Regards
Paul
