Access for removing brake line

Post by SHine » Wed Dec 14, 2016 7:07 am

Hi all,

Hopefully, I'm just being a bit dense and there's an obvious answer to this. I'm having to replace the front brake hose on the passenger side (will probably replace both). I'm stuck trying to identify where / how to access the nut on the fixed pipe side of the connection - it appears to be in the engine bay from underneath - but it apears to be in below the box fram from above.

Any advice appreciated - a picture or diagram would be sensational.

Thanks in advance,

Simon

If memory serves, there is a vertical tab on the chassis drilled to take the threaded end of the flexible hose. The hose is secured using a halfnut that is tightened against this tab. The brake pipe union is then tightened onto the protruding threaded end of the hose.

This tab and Flexi/ solid tube union is under the inner wing panel, on top of the chassis.

Hope this helps.

Do you have a P4 Workshop manual?

Best regards

Mike
