Window Regulators

The 1948 P3 window regulators on the two front doors are not the same. Right drivers side is a lever. Left Passengers side is wind-up. The channel for the Right has a ‘curtain rail design so that the two rollers (doughnut shaped) slide in at the ends of the channel. My problem is the Left Passenger channel which does not have the same design. It is designed with two simple knife-edge-blade sections which simply sit on the button type rollers and is thus held in place by gravity alone with nothing to hold the channel in place. Is this standard or can I convert this left side channel into a curtain rail type roller mechanism that will not then be reliant on gravity to keep the window channel on the mechanism arms.
