P2 Seat runners

Post by RobHomewood » Mon Aug 23, 2021 1:48 pm

I am trying to make my seat runners move more easily before I refit the front seats. However much I try to clean this one in situ it doesnt make much difference so I need to take it apart. The pressure plate, which I think is the problem, in the centre of the base runner seems to be fixed at only one point where there is an unidentified cap with a pimple. Does anyone know how it releases please? Or do I have to take the whole runner off the floor and work from underneath. There is heat reflective foil under this part of the floor which I am reluctant to disturb unless I have to. Elsewhere there are only 3 nuts showing under the floor which correspond to the main fixings but not this one so it doesnt go right through. Any suggestions please?

I afraid that going under the car is unavoidable.
