1932 Rover 10 special steering box drift

Post by daveandfru » Sun Jul 04, 2010 12:36 am

Can anyone please tell me where or how I can get parts/repair for my 10 steering box as the drop arm has some slack in the box and I would like to take this slack out of the steering.
regards Dave Whitehouse.

Hello Dave,

As regards your web enquiries,

Spares:-. Having just tidied up the Club spares store, there don't appear to be any 10 Special parts, however there is a complete front axle that we believe will suit a 10/25 and quite likely a 10 Special.

Insurance:- The Insurance scheme is a discount for club members negotiated with Footman James. This applies to motor and home insurances, so please enquire there, the details are in Freewheel.

Steering box:- Probably the best person to ask about early steering boxes is Mike Evans (Phone number in Freewheel), and I have forwarded your post from the forum to him. Anne Marie Rowland, who is our librarian for early cars will be in touch as regards the Freewheel article, and may be able to provide other relevant material.

Have you talked to Steering Services (advert in Freewheel)? I believe they have reconditioned Rover 9 steering boxes similar to yours.

Hope this helps

Regards

Mike Maher,
Chairman
