1934 Rover 12 ELECTRONIC IGNITION
1934 Rover 12 ELECTRONIC IGNITION
Hello when fitting electronic ignition to a 1934 Rover 12,how is the distributor timing set.I seem to remember, that only the static timing can be set from the marks on the fly wheel
Re: 1934 Rover 12 ELECTRONIC IGNITION
Instead of a cam and points that open a circuit you now have a magnet and a Hall-efect device that are doing the same. Therefor other than replacing one with the other you do not need to do anything.
Re: 1934 Rover 12 ELECTRONIC IGNITION
Thanks ,that means to make sure the ignition timing is correct ,before fitting electronic ignition ? Len

Yes, and make sure you know where the magnet is.
Re: 1934 Rover 12 ELECTRONIC IGNITION
I take it ,that on the collar which contains the manet it is only on one lobe, which can easily be detected
