Re: Rover 16 Gearbox Repairs

Birch motors in Liverpool specialise in Range rover gearbox rebuilds, they might know someone local who will tackle a manual box.

Re: Dumb bell link

ordered the bits from Mike Couldry, he does supply just the bushes, fine by me as the link has not been damaged.
Should be ready for wedding duty on Saturday.

Thanks

Dumb bell link

Good afternoon all,

I have lost one of the suspension rubbers in the dumb bell link or dog bone link as it is also known, is it possible to obtain the rubber bushes or does one have to order the link as a complete item

Many thanks, Willem

SU choke cable

Hi All, I have a small problem, the choke slowly comes out of the dash, pushing it back in again results in the engine running much less rich, not really a big deal but it does seem odd that it has started doing it since I oiled the cable. In my old Mini the choke could be locked by turning it but t...

Re: Travels in a Tourer

That sound like a proper little jaunt, typical that you get 2 flat tyres in a few hours, brave to get onto the autobahn in the first place.

Re: Frustration! Overheating.

Hi David, just a thought, could something have dropped in one of the cooling galleries whilst the was head off, managed to get lodged in the feed to the radiator reducing the flow? As for the idle problem, could the fuel be evaporating in the fuel line due to the block getting too hot? Just my thoug...

Re: Rover 10 trafficator switch

Just as an addendum to this posting, I have managed to repair the trafficator on my 12 tourer, the construction is slightly different to the one discussed above, the internals are as per Luli's photographs but mine is a one piece stalk and bottom bit unlike the later ones that have a screw to connec...

Re: Navigation trial

Well, survived the navigation weekend, good fun and quite challenging, the route following by the use of tulips, blind tulips, descriptions and time/ distance following are certainly a good way of keeping the brain cells active. The variety of competitors cars is very interesting, from 1934 Aston Ma...

Re: Luvax Vane Type Dampers

Thank you Tony for that bit of information, I didn't fill the unit to the top that's for sure, by my reckoning it is good 1/2" below the top. It is such a shame that al the knowledge left about the car is what is written on the forum, I will search out all of David's posts, print them off and keep t...

Re: Luvax Vane Type Dampers

I have made a few photo's of both suspension units with a pin showing the depth available, to go any deeper one has to go at an acute angle and sort of guess the oil level, certainly not an exact science. first the N/Side, the maximum depth possible is about 1/2", the O/side is different, the depth ...
