Re: Rover 10 Shock Absorbers

Hi All,
I have finally completed the overhaul of the Smith shock absorbers on the Rover and have made a short video on You Tube showing the process. Thought it might be useful to someone.

Re: Rover 10 Shock Absorbers

Thanks Mike.
I'm not sure they are viable to repair as they seem very worn but that might be the only option open to me. Thank you for the info.
Regards, Stuart.

Rover 10 Shock Absorbers

Hi All, So after many years of the shock absorbers doing precisely nothing I have decided to have a look at them. Have started with the front which came off ok which is a good start. As you can see in the photos I have found a period advert which shows they are a Smith Single Acting Shock Absorber. ...

1929 Rover 10/25 surplus oil in the back axle!

Hi All, After a good run out in the Rover on Sunday we have discovered another issue in that we seem to have quite a large amount of oil finding its way from the gearbox to the back axle. This has always happened but has now got much worse. The manual suggested that this isn’t unexpected but it does...

Hi, During the 60's and 70's my late father David Franklin and my late uncle Chris Franklin both had 1929 Rover 10's. We still have my father's tourer but my uncles car was sold after he died and we have never seen it since. His was a 1929 10/25 Sportsman Coupe. I only have a part of the registratio...

Rover 10/25 Throttle Linkage

Hi, I thought a bit of info I found might be useful to some other 10/25 owners. The throttle linkage ball joints were very badly worn so I looked to find replacement parts. I found that the throttle linkage from a Landrover was a perfect replacement. The rod was a different length but it was easy to...

1929 Rover 10 Cylinder Head Torque Setting

Hi, I guess the title says it all. I'm about to rebuild the top end of the engine and am unsure of the correct torque for the cylinder head bolts. Has anybody got any info that might be useful? I have left the pistons attached and lifted the cylinders off. My plan is to lower the cylinders back onto...
