Re: Painting, bodywork
Hi John, Finding a suitable bodywork restorer depends greatly on how much work needs to be done and the standard of the finished job you are looking for. With that in mind, it is really just a matter of how much work needs to be done by the specialist and how much you can afford to spend getting it ...

Re: P1 Steering box refurbishment
Dave/Luli,
Thanks for your swift and very helpful responses. I think I will go with ICS; just looked them up and discovered their works is close to an office one of my sons visits in Birmingham, so he can drop it off for me. Now all I have to do is get the box out of the car...
Thanks again.

P1 Steering box refurbishment
Hi all, I’m thinking of pulling the steering box out of TL6200 for refurbishment during it’s winter recess. Can anyone recommend suitable engineers to rebuild my box? I fitted it with an oversize ‘nut’ when I first took the car to bits about 40 years ago to compensate for wear in the ‘worm’. It has ...

Re: Recent travels
Hi David, Hopefully you have explored a few options around your running issue and resolved the problem. If not, another thought related to smooth fuel delivery is; do you have an in-line fuel filter installed and does the tank pick up pipe still have the fine gauze filter on the end? My thinking is ...

Re: P2 14 Sports - Bumpers
Hi Chris, You may have seen some earlier ‘P1’ models without rear bumpers but I think I’m correct in saying that al the P2 models had rear quarter type bumpers with over-riders. The profile of them is much the same as the front but they curve around in line with the rear wings. If your car has the w...

Re: Recent travels
Hi David, A thought re your recent problem; at the time of your heavy braking, how much petrol was in the tank? Is it possible that the fuel surged forward enough to allow air to be sucked through the pick up? Just thinking that the regular pick up, as opposed to the reserve pick up, is a fair bit s...

Re: Drive it day 2023
Hi, I’m nowhere near Lincoln but, should you ever be in the Essex area, I’d be happy to show you my P1 and P2 and take you for a ride. I drove my ‘37 P2 for the first time a couple of weeks ago, following a fair bit of restoration work. Quite a bit more to do but she went ok and got some admiring lo...

Re: Not engaging recerse gear
Hi Rob, Just looking at your last picture; are the floor panels removable? It looks as though there is a fixing screw on the corner, suggesting this may be the case and possibly allowing you the room to get the gearbox bracket out the way. I know it seems as though the whole car is in bits but this ...
