1939 P2 R10 starter motor
Having sorted my steering problem I can't start the car, the starter motor runs but does not engage. I've taken the motor out and everything seems to work. Powered up on the bench the dog flies out and returns when powered off. I've read posts that suggest moving the motor further forward but that d...

Re: rover 10 p2 steering
Hi Tony, I've been away for a while and only just picked up your reply. Thanks for the tips, it does make sense that the horn assembly stays still while the wheel turns but I couldn't remember if that was the case. I don't have manual A/R so the only controls are horn and passing light (dip). The or...

Re: rover 10 p2 steering
Hi Tony, thanks for your reply, that is in fact what I did. The tube is 11.75mm OD, I bought some 12mm steel tube and 14mm from B&Q and extended the tube about 40mm. The horn assembly is a push fit onto the tube and with the tube clamped off at the bottom the horn doesn't go round with the wheel. Th...

rover 10 p2 steering
1939 P2 Rover 10 does anyone know if there are different lengths of steering control tube? I had to replace the steering column but I couldn't find the exact one so I settled for one that was very similar. The problem is the control tube is about 1" short and the horn assembly doesn't fit. Any ideas...

Re: rover 10 p2 steering
Many thanks for the replies, Mike asked if I was sure the front springs were the right way round, this was something I'd not thought about. I measured them and they were indeed the wrong way round. It took me a day to turn them around and now the the drag link has plenty of clearance. I've just got ...

The drop arm snapped on my Rover 10 (1939) luckily I wasn't driving so no harm done. A replacement arrived from Mike Evans that was an inch shorter than the one that had snapped. The replacement fitted and the ball joint to the drag link was above and just behind the axle. The old drop arm put the b...

Re: p2 rover 10
Many thanks for the replies, I've seen the screws and |I'll give it a go. There's a lot of wind noise from the roof I want to see if anything is wrong and also check all the drain ways.
Thanks again,
Andy

Re: p2 rover 10
Hi Adrian, thanks for your reply, after another look there are seals on the door frames (nothing on the doors). The seals are made of fabric and don't seal very well.

does anyone know if there should be seals on the doors? mine has none and the wind noise is quite loud. It does seem as though there should be seals. Thanks in advance.
