Re: Painting, bodywork
Hello Tony, Thanks for your insights and recommendation. I will try contacting Robert Deal. I am not looking to make a profit on the car at any point and I understand already that the amount of money and time that I'm going to end up putting into it will far exceed its cash value, and that's absolut...

Painting, bodywork
I’m looking for someone to do painting and bodywork on my 1946 Rover 12, ideally in London (where the car is kept) or the southeast, but potentially further afield if necessary. Does anyone have any recommendations? I’ve approached quite a few bodywork/restoration companies so far but they don’t eit...

Re: Re-wiring
Hello David,
Thanks very much for your comments and tips. Further encouragement to tackle the job. And particularly good to know that in theory a couple of people can do it in a day.
Regards,
John

Re: Re-wiring
Many thanks for your comprehensive guidance and tips on this issue. Certainly, now I feel a bit more confident about tackling the job, which had seemed a bit daunting, as I haven't done much electrical work in the past. I’d be inclined to buy a loom rather than do everything from scratch, though I m...

Re-wiring
I’m thinking about re-wiring my 1946 P2 12. The current wiring is a tangled mix of ancient and modern, some of it in poor condition. At the moment the car’s engine is out (partly rebuilt), the floor is up and the wings removed (pending much-delayed re-painting), so it seems like it might be a good o...

Re: Rover 12 clutch and flywheel
Thanks Luli, David for your advice. Am I better off handing the clutch over to a specialist at this stage? I'm keen to do as much as possible myself but, as I understand it, I may need a press, which I don't have, to remove the clutch cover and if the plate and disc are going to need refacing I'll h...

And here are some more photos (wouldn't attach at first attempt).

Rover 12 clutch and flywheel
I have removed the clutch and flywheel from my car and would welcome views about the state of them. The clutch lining doesn’t seem to be that worn (rivets are still quite deeply recessed). On the flywheel, there seems to be some metal worn away (perhaps about 1mm) where it would have come into contr...
