Rear door gap survey

Post by wouldhee » Wed Jun 17, 2009 11:57 am

I am in the process of replacing the sills on my 14 ss.
While doing some measurement checks I found the gap between the rear door, at the bottom of the D post was 30mm.
I therefore assume that the door is 'twisted!'
The question is what should the gap be or what is it typically?
If you get chance please measure yours & let me know!!
Thanks Paul

I've just checked mine and at the top of the arched section I have 7mm from the outside door skin to the D post and at the bottom of the arch I have 10mm. The gap gets tighter towards the front of the door

Mine is quite close at the top of the D post at 4 mm but as a 6 light the D posts are entrirely different anyway. Not convinced it really matters anyway as the drfat seal for what it is ineternal - no wonder they did not sell in dry/dusty outposts of the Empire!
