1935 Streamline
1935 Streamline
Hello all,
I am looking for a wide range of pictures of a Rover Streamline. I need engine shots interior etc. Does anyone out there have one or have a stash of old photos?
I will begin a restoration on one in the next few months and the car I have has been around the block a few times so I am looking for pictures as well as a advice resource from anyone who has restored a Streamline.
Thanks in advance

There is a good picture in Dymocks book from 1992 on the 90 year Rover history, and there are some pictures in the contemporsy road tests. They are very rare - probaly 2 roadworthy in teh UK. They came in 6 light (rather ugly) and 4 light "sports" which had no headroom in the rear. Which have you got?

Hi guys,
I have the more desirable sports model Speed 14 it is the high compression 6 cyl triple carb model. I suspect there are more then 5 in the UK as I have manged to get 2 or 3 photos. However I am not really looking for glory shots I am more interested in detail shots of the interior and engine. I hope I will be able to post a few pics this weekend.
On another note are you going to the NEC? I am coming over Friday and staying through the weekend?

I am sure I have seen the green one - exterior almost finished but a lot of the interior missing them - very fancy "art deco" look apparently - this about 3 years ago at Ashover (N Derbys)

Re: 1935 Streamline
I've been meaning to post something on this thread for a ages and have finally sorted out a few pictures so hopefully they will be of interest.
I bought a '35 Streamline coupe in November which is a non speed model although it does have the knock off wheels which were standard for the Speed but not the non speed. The pictures give some idea of its current condition.

As you can probably see the previous owner has replaced much of the woodwork at the rear but it hasn't all been fixed back together yet so the body is a little floppy at the moment. I aim to start work on it a little later this year, but I need to get a few other things sorted before I can do that.
The following pictures show the door casings on the near side - the off side ones are missing, but at least I can use these two as patterns for a completely new set.

I would be interested to know about / see pictures of other streamlines which are out there as there certainly aren't that many around.
Regards
Paul

That looks lovely. Keep us up to speed once the restoration gets underway
Re: 1935 Streamline
Hi All,
I bought a 36 speed 14 coupe last year and had it shipped to Perth West Ozzyland. I will not be starting the restoration untill I have finished the Kitcher Special which hopefully will be around middle this year. My car is complete with the knock on wire wheels and 3 SU's. I can send you photos as this car is complete and in the same condition as when on the road last in 1967. Have a tax disc and at a guess was a MOT failure do to the coachwork rotting out at the rear.
If I can help email me on den@aachenkennels.com" target="_blank.
I'll send this in then have a go at sending in some photos of the car wish they had a browse button that I could just attach the photos (smile)
Den.
