Jump hoses for the Luvax-Bijur system

Post by 36t46s » Sat Jan 09, 2010 3:42 pm

The original flexible jump hoses were put together in the following way. An olive was secured about 5/16" from the end of the appropriate 5/32" (4mm) pipe, with a brass ferrule in place behind it. The pipe with its olive was then inserted into the end of the rubber hose and the ferrule was slid over the end of the hose. The ferrule was then strongly crimped on each side of the olive.

I make up replacements for £10 exchange or else for £15 with original or £20 with new 4mm pipe and soldered olives I use fuel injection rubber hose and stainless steel ferrules, crimped with a pneumatic tool each side of the olives. As the OD of the new hose is 2mm less than the original, I fit a rubber sleeve over the ferrules, allowing the original Rover clips to exert a firm grip.
