Hi All,
My name is Laurie Arnold and I am now the proud owner of a 1938 Rover 10 Doctor's Coupe which previously belonged to Chris Dancey.
Although famously known as GEV in Rover circles, my wife has christened her Genevieve, which I think is certainly fitting for such a stylish and sophisticated old lady!
I took delivery on Sunday 28/9/2014 the handover taking place at Northampton Services, junction 15a on the M1.Chris drove her from his home in Brighton and I finished the trip to West Yorkshire,in all 250 miles and she completed the journey without a hitch.

I´ve read about GEV, and I think Genevieve is a very suitable name. As I understand many Rover owner give their cars female name, so I´ve christened my car, a 1934 Rover 14 Sport Saloon, to Gladys, after her original english registration plates, GL 1355. Actually, it was GEV, now Genevieve, that give me the idea.

My wife has christened every classic Rover I've owned (Jess,Jessica,Belle etc) I think that Gladys is very appropriate taking into account her registration number and it being an often used name in the thirties. I have owned six P4s pre Genevieve and always fancied a pre war car.When Chris Dancey advertised GEV for sale I just couldn't resist her.

our daughter (she was 6 then) christened my 1954 90 'Ben' immediately when she first saw him (sic). I thought this was a very appropriate name for a stately motor car of 60 years like the Rover so Ben it was ever since.

We have been in touch via the P4 facebook site before. Congratulations on Genevieve, she's a real beauty.

I am so pleased that ' Genevieve ' has gone to a good home. She is a beautiful testament to the twenty years of restoration by in the main Neal Powell, and latter two years to her completion by me. The work by Neal was completed to a very high standard indeed, for me it was a great interlude in the restoration program of my ' Snowdrop ' which has seen delays caused by the problems of the restoration company where I kept both cars in storage, I would advise that no association be made with me to this company ( Imperial Restorations, and its propreitor Richard Stubbs ). I had to bring my cars home when bailiffs turned up when I was at the workshop of Imperial Restorations, this caused me some problems of garaging, with six classics and a four car garage.

I am sure that Laurie and his family will get immense enjoyment from Genevieve, at the recent Goodwood Revival, Lord March himself came over to view her and commented ' my father had one of these, this is a true credit to Rover '.
