P2 Headlamp flasher

I am attempting the replace the ancient wiring in my '39 14 DHC steering column etc and update the related circuits. The pass lamp will be switchable separately but only with dipped headlights on. I have a flasher of sorts already but want to incorporate a discreet relay which will disconnect the dipped beams & pass lamp if they are on when flashing main beams but leave the sidelamps on, obviously. Can anyone recommend a suitable relay unit for positive earth car? I am using LCD bulbs so the current shouldn't be too great but it would seem a good moment to protect the circuits anyway.

Old style mechanical relays are not polarity conscious - you need a Change over relay. Vehicle Wiring Products do a variety

Hi
I fitted relays to my 12 a while ago to reduce the loading on the light and dip switches. I didn't think to include a flasher which would have the more useful mod as the car doesn't get a lot of use in the dark!
Generally speaking relays aren't polarity sensitive but some do have an internal supressor diode across the coil and so need to be connected the correct way round - pin 86 to +ve on the ISO cube-type commonly used on cars.
