Rover 10hp P2 ' Coupe ' 1938 'GEV'

Post by chris dancey » Thu Jul 03, 2014 1:34 pm

Hello Everyone,

This is a prior announcement of my impending sale of the above extremely desireable and rare ex-Neal Powell Rover P2 ' Coupe ' model 10hp known as GEV.

I am currently in Cyprus and will be offering GEV for sale on my return to the UK on the 1st August 2014.

One has to be realistic with numbers of classics, I have space for four and own six, I shall be resuming work on ' Snowdrop ' as soon as I return and I am struggling for space, my wife Linda's MGB now has to reside at my brothers house and my P4 at a friends workshop.

GEV has been the subject of a 20 year comprehensive ground up nut & bolt restoration and is just about perfect. Neal Powell completed about 80% of the work over 18 years and I have completed the restoration over the past two years.
The total restoration costs to date are in the region of £35 - £40,000 and have been completed to a high standard.

There are five recorded examples remaining from the total 1938-40 production run of 525, a similar 1938 Coupe was sold last December for £20,000, that example was not as ' correct ' as this one. There has already been interest shown from a Russian collector, Australia, Holland, USA and the UK at various shows.

Features include a brand new marine grade stainless steel petrol tank, new complete ( Fiennes Restoration ) luvax system, new loom, Connolly's ' Vaumol ' leather interior ( as original ), carpets, sunroof, tool tray etc. etc. in fact everything.

Tick Over and Drives beautifully, 60-65mph all day if required. Winner of the Rover Retro and South East Rover Events ' Best Car ' and further ' Other Marques ' events.

Comes with a host of ' doctors ' memorabilia from the period. Those who have seen the car know what a beauty she is.

Private Message if any further information is required or photos, the price is £20,000.
