Gentlemen,

I am writing up an article for our club newsletter on the jacks supplied with the Series Land-Rovers. Generally Shelley, I thought it would be interesting to see if they were common with the early Land-Rovers, and if not, to make reference to what was supplied with the Rover P2 to P4 or 5 cars. Searching the forum, there does not seem to be any discussion on the original equipment (air pump, jack, tool roll, etc) supplied with these vehicles. Would anyone have a reference to what was supplied?

Which club newsletter are you writing for? The spanners, pliers, screwdriver and small tools were in a tray not a tool roll. The P2/3 car jacks were smiths /stevenson pillar jack or bevelift. Hatches in the wooden floor of the car near the front seats gave access to jacking points in a chassis cross member. Inserting the lifting arm and raising the jack, lifted the driver or passenger side of the car. P4s and P5s used a smiths "A" frame jack and below sill jacking points.
