A question. Has anyone ever assembled, or does anyone know where there is a list of the various Rover company publications, either by the Technical Publication (TP) number of by the part numbers? Looking at the TP numbers,!they started after the war, while the part number sequence seems to have started in the Twenties, if not earlier.

Thank you,

Dixon

Question: Rover published combined owner's manuals from 1947 to 1951. Did they actually publish one in 1949? I've never seen an example of one on eBay or anywhere else.

FWIW, 1948 is TP/104, 1950 is TP/117, and 1951 is TP/129.

There also does not seem to be any manuals or publications between 1940 and late 1945.

If any one has any additional information, it would be helpful in adding to the list.

Thank you,

Do you mean The Rover 'Instruction Manual'? The only one I have is for Rover 1947 models (it says for cars numbered 7110001, 7210001, 7230001, 7330001, 7410001 and 7430001 onwards) and doesn't seem to have a reference number ( published November 1946)

Yes, the Instruction Manual. Some have identifying numbers, some not. I've seen 1947 on eBay, but never with any good photos to identify any dates anywhere in them, whether on the cover, inside cover, first page or inside the back cover.

Rover published a drivers handbook for the P3 range in 1948 and maybe 1949 as well. As regards the lack of technical publications between 1940 and 1945, there were no cars produced as the company was producing aircraft engines and components at all its plants. Along with most pre-war car manufacturers, they waited some considerable time for Government permission (probably Board of Trade) to resume production. This was granted and limited production was started on a line at the Clay Lane factory - (possibly Rover Acocks Green) in time for the December 1945 launch of the 1946 Rover 10 models.

BTW, The Rover Sports Register has archives of publications both pre-1950 and post 1950.

Is it possible to get a list of the various publications?

I have been trying to create one using eBay and other resources on the internet to arrive at a list of early Land-Rover related publications. In the process, in an attempt to make sense of the TP numbers and part numbers I started adding in Rover car publications, but numerous gaps remain.
