Fitting telltale to P2sidelight

Can anyone tell me how the telltale insert is fitted to the P2 sidelight? I have the telltale and the very bent metal ring ( I am presuming that replacements are not available?) but cant work out how it fixes to the lamp body which has a very small lip internally to the opening. Which way up is the metal ring supposed to be? and is that supposed to fix inside/outside the opening rim before the telltale is pushed in and the tags folded over? There obviously some trick to it and I cant see any info anywhere ImageImage

These lamps (Lucas L1142) are still available: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-Vint ... 1566326387
You can get medallions here: http://www.vintagemotorspares.com/page6.htm
There are 2 "crowns": the little crown which is integral part of the lamp body, and the big crown which is held by the little one. Not only the lips of the little crown are bent over the basis of the big crown, they are also soldered to it. The medallion is inserted from inside of the lamp, then the "tongues" of the big crown are bent over it. It looks to me as a once only installation. I think you can safely use superglue instead of the "crown".

Thanks for that Luli. It looks from your photo that the teeth on my sidelight body are smaller- worn or broken off I guess which wont help. I did try to superglue the medallion but it wouldnt bond. I will have to try the special primer perhaps.
