I have only recently discovered that my father's 1948 Rover 60 JYE 392 - the first car I ever drove- was not scrapped as I thought in 1965 but was apparently rescued. It shows on the DVLA database. RSR archives have found a last reference in 2010 when it was sold by Days Autos. Unfortunately Days Autos seemed suspicious of my motives and did not want to help with any clues as to where it may have gone so I wonder whether any RSR members have any knowledge which might at least let me see it again (we get sentimental in our old age don't we?)

'Lost' Rover 60 JYE 392
Re: 'Lost' Rover 60 JYE 392
Hello there Rob
There was a 1948 60ss for sale on ebay in August 2015 asking £6,200, it still needed work done on it but the Reg No was partly covered up but I made a note against JYE 392 on the RSR database as I seem to remember part of the Reg No that was on view matched up??.
Obviously I can't be certain but it is a long shot!!!
Good luck in your endeavours

Yes I am really happy to have located it and that it is being restored. The snag is I would have to go to Spain to actually see it! Not for sale obviously but then I couldnt have afforded another Rover anyway. We are now trying to see if we have any old photos in the family archives
