The length and shape are super critical since this unit keeps the camshaft bearing from rotating on the engine side and reduces the amount of oil that can pass through it on the other side. See discussion here: https://wp.me/pXLKy-21U and here https://wp.me/pXLKy-1Wo but the correct hose is available: M00000099 oil gauge hose (41"), 1934-38 £35.55 they are also available for other years, same price. so just call meteor spares and you are all set.

Hi Luli

Thank you for the tip about Meteor Spares. I have been in touch with a local hose company and they are sure they can attach a new hose to my fittings so I will try that first.

I have already made several visits to your website and it will provide valuable information as the restoration progresses particularly as many parts of the car are missing, most importantly the sunroof!

Regards

Alan

Note though that the sun roof of the 10 is different from the sun roofs of all other models. A detailed description can be found in the latest edition of the RSR workshop manual. Also go to the Rover P3 & All Running Board Rovers Group in face book where a Swedish member has restored the sun roof of a 12SS and published a very detailed description.
