Free wheel cable

Hi All,

I have got my new dashboard finished and fitted, now begun to reinstall the cluster and fittings, question is when I try to feed the free wheel cable through the tube in the gearbox it hits the end of the spring loaded plunger and will go no further, do I need to dismantle the freewheel or should it go through without having to do this?

Kev,

The cable should go through, allowing nipple to be clamped on end. Could be that the cable is kinked and fouling on gearbox/freewheel unit. Try passing something else through first that is good and straight. A question of fiddling it through I expect!

Often the problem is a damaged ferrule (no 58 in the layout you can find here https://wp.me/pXLKy-f6 ) you can unscrew it. fix it and then passing the cable is straight forward.
