Lucas sft 576 fog lamp

I have been watching a nice looking Lucas sft 576 fog lamp on ebay.
It occurred to me that even this nice looking lamp will need rechroming to make it what I want.
I looked online for a new one and there are several 'replacement' lights. Can anyone recommend one of these? Is the new chrome of good quality?
Should the original have a yellow lens or clear? In my various assortment of lights that came with the car there are a few yellow ones. But none good enough to re-use or recycle and no Lucas, but there is a small Wipac fog light with no number and cracked lens.
I am searching for originality above everything, so any leads to the best quality item would be much appreciated.
So my query really is - new vs restored?
