Hi All
I have a saggy rear-end. But enough of my personal problems!
The back end of my '39 14 is looking a bit low. I guess the springs are starting to show their age. Is it simply a case of replacing them or is there an alternative fix?

The springs can be re-set to the correct height/tension if the leafs are in good condition. I had one done by Brost Forge many years ago and it is still fine to this day

Hi Rich, Not aware of anyone who offers this service in our local area, however I'll make a few enquires.
There may be a company at the Classic Resto Show @ Stoneleigh on Sunday (RSR have a Stand in Hall 2).
Normally there are companies at the NEC Classic Car Show who can retemper/reset road springs.

Is there any way of measuring if the rear springs need resetting? For example my bonnet slopes upwards towards the front, the front of the bonnet is about 1cm higher than the back. I would have thought it should be level! Does this mean my rear springs need attention?

The latest edition of the P2 Workshop Manual has all of this information listed within it.

Unfortunately, the workshop manual gives only the springs dimensions out of the car, not in situ . However, you need to remember that the Rover p2 suspension is under-slang, and a rear bonnet slightly lower than the front one is as it should be.
