Hello all,

I decided to begin a restoration on my fabric body 1929 Rover 6 this past August, and managed to get it to a car show this last Sunday. Allot of long nights but we got her done. I am most proud of re-manufacturing the Andrea Hartford shocks and the petrol gauge.

Here is the progress in pictures

Dirk
A tremendous amount of work since I saw the car only a few months ago, well done. Wish I worked so efficiently.
Noted that the wooden dashboard/ instrument panel is exactly the same as on my recently acquired 2 litre remains, thought to be no 3055, the actual instrument layout seemed to change frequently 1928-30.
There is no body left on my car so I'm considering building the five seater four door tourer, as shown in the 1929 brochure. (I'd add the image if it was possible to upload from my computer)

Great job Dirk and done in an amazingly short time. Are those gaiters over the brake rods copies of originals or just a good idea of yours? We have similar brake rods on the 16/50 but I've never seen any evidence of gaiters over them.

Hello Stewart,

The gaiters are copies of the originals that were too worn to use but I do believe they were original to the car. I would bet that earlier cars had them as well.

See you in June

I'll have a close look at some early photographs and see if I can spot them. Did you make a pattern we could copy?

See you in June, we are staying nearby for the whole week following the rally.
