The Rover should be here next week, fortunately I sold my Mercedes 450SLC .However I had to take a loss someone bought a bargain, the thing is times have never been like this .Cash is King and in this present time nothing is truer. As soon as it arrives the next job is to join the club. I`ve always found them to be invaluable Len

Good news,

Look forward to hearing your news on the new arrival. The RSR publishes a parts list for 1934-38 models and a Workshop manual that covers the cars produced from 1934 to 1947. You can order these through the website.

Hello I now have the Rover,my Mercedes and the Triumph bike both sold last week thank goodness I was looking for storage .I knew there was a fair amount of work needed on the Rover ,that`s one reason I bought it to give me something to do I was told it is missing on one cyl. so the first job is to get the engine sorted out.The interior has obviously been done ,it all looks like new.I`ll keep the club posted ,the next thing is to joint the club Len

Congratulations, Len - looks very tidy, do you have much to do?

I noticed the website was having a funny turn recently - varoius devices I tried to log on with came up with different excuses. Just another of those gremlins I suppose.

As to parts suppliers - Mike Couldry (Meteor Spares), Mike Evans (Viking Engineering) and Barrie Kent spring immediately to mind. There are others and the club has a store of secondhand stuff. Many later P2 parts continued in use on P3, P4 and Landrovers and a few up to P5. I don't know much about P1s but I suspect there is less commonality.

I definitely recommend joining the RSR - I've been a member for donkey's so I might be biased.

Best of luck with your new venture, Dave

PS - I think "Wilks Cars P1 and P2" is the more appropriate section.

Cheers, Dave

The head was leaking water into no 4 cyl when I bought it .I was told about this beforehand ,When I started to remove the head instead of the studs being 35ft lbs they were hardly 7 ft lbs and when I took the head off that was all that seemd to be wrong .I`ve reground the valves in and given the head and block a good clean, just waiting to find gasket for it
