10/25 Water Pump

Post by ColinDelage » Fri Jul 13, 2018 2:26 pm

Does anyone have a water pump for a 10/25 on a shelf, or in bits?

The cover on mine isn’t going to last too long so I want to fabricate a new cover.

I can get all of the external dimensions but need the internal ones so could do with being able to measure one (I guess even a photo will help) as I would rather make the new cover then carry out a quick, simple swap.

Thanks in advance....

Colin

From the Upkeep book for the 10/25 (have a pdf), the pump shown in the engine cross section looks VERY similar to that on my 1926 9/20 - see here https://imgur.com/EZkCOB7 Seems to be in good condition, pumps well, and only has a tiny weep from the grease/oil fitting.
The pump on my spare engine is almost completely reduced to rubbish, so they dont seem to last well. Another gent here who has a running 9 told me that brand new such pumps are available in UK, so you may be able to do better than just a new cover. If you cant find a source of these pumps let me know and I will chase up my source. Let me know if you do find the source, it would be useful to know.
