Re: Not engaging reverse gear

I have just made a little experiment on one of my spare gearboxes. I Removed the long spring and engaged the reverse. It works, and reverse is active. Re: 1939 Rover P2 14 number 1 cylinder position

You are right, Tony. However, the balancing procedure is the following: first the flywheel, then the clutch is fitted on it, and only then they are attached to the crank. So that there is a good chance that after the 180 deg rotation it will still stay balanced.

Re: 1939 Rover P2 14 number 1 cylinder position

Do you see the TDC mark at all? If you do see it, the flywheel is fitted 180 degrees off. However, you can still time the engine by the valves overlap method. See more here:

Re: Suspension setup

I am not familiar with "the car the timing is 18 seconds for 110 degree drop with a 10 Lb weight, according to the workshop manual it should be timed with a 20 Lb weight," Can you elaborate? See here some of mine experience on these subject: https://lulis.org/2021/12/15/%d7%93%d7%9c%d7%99%d7%a4%d7%a...
