Re: Gearbox problem
I doubt if it has anything to do with oiling or spigot bearing. Most probably it is clutch drag because of insufficient clutch cable travel. Read more here:

Re: 1947 Rover 12 Tourer
The parts catalog pictures refer to 1947. This is the first year when heater was introduced to the hard top models. The head back seal with the thermostat and hot water outlet was introduced only in that year, they were not needed previously, and were different. The tourer project aimed in exporting...

Re: 1947 Rover 12 Tourer
I am not sure that heater was original equipment on the tourer. On pictures of some, Including my own, I haven't found a trace of it.

Re: Fuel Starvation?
|f the needle valve is sticky it can reduce the fuel flow when the carburetor heats up. I guess your car is using an SU. The needle valve is in the top cover of the float chamber.
What is the general condition of the carburetor? In the WSM you can find detailed instructions how to diagnose it.

Re: Rover 16 Gearbox Repairs
The freewheel tail bearing (22) is 6219A (90X50X20 mm).
Free Wheel housing oil seal c122 1-3/8 X 2.816 X 9/16
Check the shaft (31) . If worn where the seal is running it needs hard chrome coating and re grinding to original dimensions.

About 10 years ago I saw a nicely restored P2 gearbox at the Formhalls boot
