Re: Richard Moss's 1990 Sterling

It's OK - I now have a spare stat housing on my spare engine! Because I don't trust my current engine (it has a noisy bottom end, I think, and has always sounded harsh), I bought this on ebay: http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w293/moggie99/Mk1%20Sterling/autoengine004.jpg I'll give it a good check...

In fact many of your historical updates occurred around the time of its initial demise ~ 24 June.
Paul, May and June were pretty busy as I was working up to the MOT.

Richard Moss's 1990 Sterling

Whilst fitting the skirts I discovered a badly worn track rod end on the left hand side. I changed it after work in under 20 minutes from getting the jack out of the boot to washing my hands afterwards qualifies as straight forward. Unfortunately, when I grabbed the new one out of the shed, I realis...

dodgy pics (the light was going) but you get the idea. I'm still undecided about what colour to do it. I'll either have to match the bumpers to the present Azure blue/Storm grey scheme or do the whole thing in one colour (either Caribbean blue - like Mrs M's cabrio) or Atlantic blue (which is simila...

Here's a better shot of the sideskirts. Because my drive isn't flat, it makes them look a lot lower than they really are. This shows that the ground clearance is still pretty good (they also passed the speed hump test!) http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w293/moggie99/Mk1%20Sterling/bodykit004.jpg I...

Mrs M's Rover 216 cabrio

Whilst re-attaching the inner roof lining on Phillippa's cabrio (the brackets had come away because the aluminium rivets had corroded to powder), I discovered a little more rust in the hood frame. OK, a lot more rust! Side frame: http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w293/moggie99/216%20cabrio/hood003....
