P6B battery hold down dimensions please

Can anybody provide these dimensions please? This is the one located on the right side of the boot, in the ledge. I remember this holdown as one of the best I have seen, as it goes all the way around the battery top, and is secured at the narrow ends -it will be very suitable for my 26 Rover 9/20, a...

Re: 1926 Rover 9/20 2 seater parts wanted

When I look more closely at my parts book, the wheel has 26 teeth, worm is a 5 start , so that makes it 5.2, same as the 10/25. Possible. Since cleaning out the radiator I now have a leak in a couple of places, so I am looking around for a radiator, or somewhere that makes cores I could afford. Coup...

Note that P19 of the middle file in dropbox is missing. All useful just the same.

Re: 9/20 information

Can anybody advise what the current suitable replacement for Gargoyle 'A' engine oil would be please? Penrite call up their Shelsley Light (a 20-60) for this period and small engines. The Gargoyle A is listed on a factory brass plate for the car. Also diff oil for a worm/wheel unit, presumably bronz...

Re: 9/20 information

I finally got the old leaking plug out - quite a lot of work digging the debris out of the threads - the whole plug collapsed in small pieces. Trying to centre punch the hollow, the punch went through the metal! Had to chisel out the rest in fragments. The replacement plug was ~ 1mm under size, and ...

Re: New Member With Rover 10

Mike,
Have you not noticed that photobucket is now NOT free if you want pics from there to show up here? They now ask for US$400/pa for this feature. There are some addons you can put in google (or chrome?) to make it work again.

Re: 9/20 information

Thanks Colin. I got a 3/4 bspt tap ready for cleaning up the threads and a couple of new plugs. I am a bit reluctant to chisel out the weeping plug until I really have to, but at least I am ready with a replacement now.

Re: Rover 10 Special

Suri, Re the doors - in P2 and P3 (47-49) the door hinges had soft cast metal 'balls' in them - conical on top, spherical in bottom. When these wore (quickly!) the doors would drop. If you can see slack at the hinges this might be your problem. Get some help to hold the door, loosen the bolts throug...

Re: 9/20 information

Next question. There are what look like screw in welch plugs present - 2 in the head (right side), 2 in the block (left side). In my spare engine they have all been replaced by what looks like alloy parts, absolutely flush with the block surface - like a solid plug driven or screwed in and cut off f...
