However there is clearly a silting up issue in both block and rad - so it needs flushing and descaling. The rad may be past it howe...

Re: Possible regulator Issues
The regulator points may need cleaning - cardboard with a little alcohol on it is best. Are there signs of oxidation on the points? It's well worth cleaning all the connections

Re: 1947 P2 Floor and front seat mounts
Our P2 is a prewar saloon and these had more timber in that postwar cars. However, I am sure because of the post-war steel shortage plywood floorboards were used till the end (the 4 Light Sports saloons had steel rear footwell recesses though). Re: Electrical oddities
Possibly reversed ammeter connections - what does the ammeter do when the engine is not running and the lights are switched on? What is the state of the wiring?

Re: Cross Ply tyres Vs Radial Ply tyres
As far as I know there is no radial equivalent for the 17" wheels although there may still the taxi version to the 16" wheels fitted to the last of the P3's. Vintage and North Hants Tyres both sell X plies

Re: P4 90- too short axle ratio
1956 models did not offer freewheel - fixed was standard with axle ratio 4.3 : 1. Overdrive was optional. The 3.9 : 1 was used on 55 models which had freewheel as standard. I am surprised you think its over-reving and noisy as our 100 has a 4.3 : 1 rear axle and in top without overdrive engaged is q...
