Re: Rover 2 litre 1929

Paul
Are you still wanting a luggage rack? Although the one I previously offered you was too small, I think many of the parts of it are right, it just needs longer ' bars'.
I've now made a start on my 2-litre, though a better chassis frame would be nice. I also need a cut out like yours.

Re: Air filter identification

Thanks luli. so that makes the one with both holes 1.5" from the swan neck end either 50284 or 07399 for 1939-47 10/12hp cars, and the one with the bracket at a skew to the can, held on by bolts at different distances from the end 06903 for 1937/8 10/12hp cars. I now know which one to supply to a Ro...

Reconditioned engine part numbers.

Rover offered reconditioned exchange engines for P2 models well into the 1950s, these units had part numbers in the 24556x range. Somewhere I have seen a listing of which number refers to which engine, but can I find it?! It's possibly in the 46-7 service notes which I can't find. I have a couple of...

Re: Air filter identification

Thanks luli, but it doesn't help. The 'can' is apparently identical to all the other cans mentioned in my list, it is the position of the holes that fix the bracket (79) to the can that is different in them. As I mentioned, I've identified the 35/6 one and the 37-39 6-cylinder one, it's just the thr...

Air filter identification

Apart from 1940-47 6-cylinder cars and the 1935-38 14hp, all 1935-47 Rovers had an apparently similar air filer. However, there are actually five different ones. 01270 has the bypass connection to the bottom (on the others it is to the side) and fit 1935/6 cars 04923 has its bracket 3.5" from the me...

Re: Vintage Engine

Definitely a 10/25, 1928/9. The engine no stamped on the top of the timing chain area of the ally crankcase will give a better idea. The obvious visual difference from the 9/20 is that the 9/20 had three rectangular holes in the crankcase over the flywheel, which would have been visible in one photo.

Re: Rover 19??

Only just seen this, but can confirm it's a 10/25 of 1930 or 31. Rather too far gone to justify restoration, though there's enough there that could be built up to make a special. Does it still exist and where is it?
If going for parts I'd like the wheels, or just the wheel centre hubs.

Re: 10 hp Front wings Wanted

An amendment to my post- I think P3 wings, (not P£) might be suitable for the 10hp, does anyone know?

10 hp Front wings Wanted

I've been asked by a new / prospective member without computer facilities for front wings for a 1939-47 10 hp. He is taking on his father's car for restoration and finds that the front wings were removed years ago for repair and subsequently lost. Any wings are better than none - can anyone help? (I...

Re: Temp gauge

I do the oil pressure /temp gauges as exchange reconditioned units, and usually have at least one of the several types used on P1/2/3 Rovers in stock. These are usually not working due to the soldered joint where the pipe enters the bulb in the water pump or thermostat housing being broken when the ...
