North American Dollar Area (NADA) references

I am looking for references to the use of “North American Dollar Area” within Rover literature. I’ve found references within Land-Rover literature to the mid Fifties, but am curious if this term was in use earlier for the Rover cars. Would anyone know of references or able to take a quick look? Any ...

Re: P2 Steering Boxes

Trivia question. Are these the same steering boxes as used on the 1948-53 Land-Rovers? Or at least, are their interchangeable parts?

Re: Rover Salesman’s Manuals

Very interesting. Given the 1956 of for the Land-Rover landed at ninety pages, the pair shown on this link from 1937 & 39 certainly grew in sophistication.

Thank you, this is useful for the introduction for the article and footnoting with a link.

Regards from Canada,

Dixon

Re: Differential Drain plug Seal

Get a new crush washer. If 90 et isn’t available (hard to find here in Canada at times, EP 80W90 or 75W90 or some extreme pressure gear oil. Same stuff as in the Series Land-Rover Diffs

Rover Salesman’s Manuals

A question: Did Rover have Salesman’s Manuals for Rover cars before they created the first Salesman’s Manual for Land-Rover in 1956? The LR edition clearly states that it was a preliminary work, and is well done. It would be superseded by another version in 1957. (Publication no.’s 506 and 506/a). M...

Jacks supplied with Rover cars.

Gentlemen, I am writing up an article for our club newsletter on the jacks supplied with the Series Land-Rovers. Generally Shelley, I thought it would be interesting to see if they were common with the early Land-Rovers, and if not, to make reference to what was supplied with the Rover P2 to P4 or 5...

Rover & Rootes

Besides mention in some interesting histories of the decline and fall of the British motor industry (basically British Leyland), I have not been able to find any details on the agreement between Rover and Rootes to sell Rover products in North America. In short, following the War, Rover made some at...

Rover service newsletters or bulletins

Are there any sources of PDFs of Rover car service newsletters from the Forties? I have PDFs of a number from 1949 through the Fifties, but they are primarily for Land-Rover. Given that Rover mixed service bulletins for the two until the Sixties, it would be interesting to see the Rover car side for...

Re: Rover publications

Is it possible to get a list of the various publications? I have been trying to create one using eBay and other resources on the internet to arrive at a list of early Land-Rover related publications. In the process, in an attempt to make sense of the TP numbers and part numbers I started adding in R...
