Re: 1939 P2 Engine Number

It is exactly there. May be covered by paint or dirt, so remove it.

Re: Not engaging reverse gear

Can I ask what is the registration No. of your car, so that I cam identify it in the pictures from the event?
Very nice driving 600 miles like that.

Re: Engine Mounting replacement 12 tourer

You don't need to replace the rubbers if they are in a reasonable state. Use spacers - shims. Easier. Re: Caster angle, 1939 14 saloon.

The wedge is clearly marked "front" to show the correct position. However, due to sagging or other changes in the springs during the years, this wedge or its direction may change. Higher castor means harder steering but better self centering. See more here: https://lulis.org/2018/05/01/1-castor-take...

Re: Ignition timing

Ignore the micrometer etc. Use a vacuum gauge, loosen the clamp and rotate the upper side until you get the best vacuum. tight the clamp again.
With the the 123 the engine is smother, pules better and consumes less petrol.

Re: Ignition timing

I replaced the DKY4A with a digitally advanced 123 distributor, in which you can tune the ignition advance curve to perfection. The engine feels much happier. https://lulis.org/2023/02/26/%d7%a7%d7%99%d7%93%d7%95%d7%9d-%d7%94%d7%a6%d7%aa%d7%94-%d7%93%d7%99%d7%92%d7%99%d7%98%d7%9c%d7%99-%d7%9c%d7%98%...
