Re: Christmas Challenge

Many thanks for your reply Luli and seasons greetings to you. I am disappointed that I got no other replies or suggestions although perhaps members thought your post covered the topic. However I am reluctant to leave the drawing out there when it is unverified for others in the future to rely on pot...

Christmas Challenge

No entry fee and no prizes! I have been attempting to work out the correct sequence for tightening the head bolts on a 6 cylinder P2 engine and I have not been able to locate any official (or unofficial for that matter) diagram to show recommended practice. I have sketched up the head bolt positions...

Re: 1947 12hp

Hi Luli at al I can see this topic has moved on a way but my previous query about tightening for head bolts on a 6 Cylinder is still related I think I have started trying to draw up a similar diagram to the one Luli posted for the 6-cylinder heads based on a spare head that I have. I have belated re...

Re: 1947 12hp

Hi Luli With regard to the diagram showing the bolt tightening sequence for the cylinder head, do you by any chance have a similar one for the 6 cylinder engine (which has 16 bolts rather than 12)? Or a link? Its not in the workshop manual nor in any of the service sheets that I have. I would like t...

Re: Cross Ply tyres Vs Radial Ply tyres

I would be interested to see what your new raduals look like on the car. I have to replace 4 xply tyres currently Excelsior but with no age marking so they could be from the last century! I am considering radials but reluctant to change the original appearance of the car (39 DHC). I was slighthly co...

Re: Wanted - 2x Trafficator Steering column swiches

Hi Paul Thanks for the new images. That certainly looks like the same trafficator stalk but it appears to have an red dome on the cap as if for a lamp and there is no wiring at all in my stalk. There is no gurantee that my stalk is the correct one of course. Could you tell me what model and year the...

Re: Wanted - 2x Trafficator Steering column swiches

Looks like my earlier post has missed off the pics. I repeat it here hopefully complete........... I have a spare trafficator switch but unfortunately I dont know which year it is. My Lucas catalogue only goes up to 1939 so it may be later. The number on it is difficult to make out but is something ...

Re: New member 1947 Rover 12 Tourer & 1935 Rover 12 (6-light)

Dear Paul I do have an indicator stalk but unfortunately I dont know what year it is- it doesnt match mine (1939). My Lucas parts catalogue only goes up to 1939. There is a number but difficult to read - it could be 30104G/40 or something of that ilk. Maybe the photo attached will help you identify ...
