Re: Solex Carburrettor 30FFA1
Thanks for that Luli. I will try that today. In the meantime are you able to confirm whether there should be a paper gasket between the bi-starter and the main body of the carb and if so is it the one in the bottom left of the photo on your link? I am now getting anxious becasue we leave on Tuesday ...

Re: Solex Carburrettor 30FFA1
I removed the bi-starter again to reverse the pierced disc but I could not see how to remove the disc from the shaft. I didnt want to force it off as it probably wouldnt stay on when replaced. Any ideas?

Re: Solex Carburrettor 30FFA1
Thanks Luli When you say 'it should not be like' that did you mean the main carb body or the bi-starter unit with disc? I looked at the parts photo in your link and I see there is a paper gasket shown. Bearing in mind that mine is a 30 FFA1 (twin choke) rather than a 30 FA1, Is this gasket supposed ...

Solex Carburrettor 30FFA1
I ahve been trying to understand the bi-starter on my 30 FFA1 Carb. Is it correct that when the engine is warmed up and the choke fully home that air is still being drawn in via the starter air jet? When I put my finger over the jet the engine stops so its not a little amount of air. The carb is as ...

Re: RF91 vs RF95 Reguator/fuse box
Hi David I have used the RF91, RF95 and CB17 regulators I had interchangeably on my P2 without noticing a difference. They all have the same 9 terminals but 'not necessarily in the same order' as Eric Morcambe (almost) used to say. As I sometimes find it difficult to read the raised labels on the co...

Re: P2 Gear change issues
Thanks Luli and 47P2 for your assistance. I feel a bit dumb now beacuse having studied the pictures I can see the slotted holes in the gear change gate are obviously for adjustment. Rereading the workshop manual more carefully I see it does flag up that refitting the UJ cover on the stick you should...

P2 Gear change issues
Out for a test drive the other day I came off a roundabout seeking 1st gear and the gearchange jammed solid - no drive. Eventually I thumped the gearstick back into neutral and was able to get home gingerly. On uncovering the gearbox I found all 4 bolts J23 holding the gear change remote control hou...

Re: Petrol Tank 12hp tourer110
I measured the pipes on my unit today @ 9" and 7 3/16" approx but realise that the catalogue lengths include the threaded section too ie the overall length which I didnt get. I dont want to break the seals by detaching the pipes so sorry about that but looking at the difference in pipe lengths in ea...

Reservevalve fromLucascatalogue400E.jpg Reservevalve fromLucascatalogue400E.jpg Just thought I would share this page with you. You will see there are only 4 options with the round fixing plate and it gives the lengths of the pipes for each. I will try to remember to measure mine tomorrow It is from...

Re: New Member - Inherited Rover 14 Sports Saloon 1934 Restoration Project!
Hi and welcome to RSR if no one has said that yet. Lovely to see your car even if it is in bits. What an amazing tool kit it was provided with! I have never seen one as comprehensive. You can have fun locating replacements for the missing kit if nothing else! I am afraid I know no details of this mo...
