Re: P2 Semaphore trafficators

I have fitted orange bulbs to the front sidelights and the rear white reverse light lenses. Conversion kits are available to have both in the front sidelights now. Through a system of relays, I have retained the trafficators. It would be foolhardy and dangerous to use semaphore indicators only on ro...

Re: How to raise the P3 from the front.

Nicely done P3 indeed It is a little low but sometimes excessive camber on the rear can affect the front. It certainly does so on P4's. I am not familiar with P3's just P2/P4/P5 though. Packers could be fitted as they are in P4's I suppose but the coil springs could be tired Welcome to the forum as ...

Re: engine knoch

Was the oil pump rebuilt and the pressure relief valve replaced in the side of the block. Dizzies can knock terrible when worn especially the 25D6 but yours should have the DMBZ6 which is better quality.

Swapping the dizzy for a known good one may be useful before buying a reconditioned one

Re: On the hunt

I use our 100 daily and touring Ireland as well. Ideal for modern roads. It does have power steering fitted by the previous owner (my late father in law) but I had no bother driving it before even on radials as I am used to series Land Rovers and the P2. Even my wife's classic Mini has heavier steer...

Re: ignition timing

They should not pink - the mixture does need setting up per the book and the timing is never absolute for any engine. Modern fuels often need less advance. It's best to use a strobe and then preferably with a vac gauge adjust timing to get the fastest idle.

Re: Sills,step brackets

Over long bolts/screws can just take longer to remove when rusty - they should not foul anything so I would try them

Re: Throttle spring arrangement

The arrangement works very well as long as the hole is not oval or the rod is not grooved and the lever is in the correct position. It hooks into a downward extension of the carb throttle lever

I can post a pic if you cannot find the car anchorage
