Re: Curly Attachment Hooks 1938 10hp Coupe

Hello there Chris Sorry for delay in replying but have been up North with our daughters family and things a bit hectic here since returning. Anyway I am not sure of the concealed plate that fixes the bracket to the the boot lid with 2 screws as it is covered with carpet, but the upstanding part is v...

Re: new member Alan

Hello there Alan This car is well known in Rover circles and according to the RSR Pre 1950 archive database has resided in the Chester area for some 35 years or so and was first in the RSR circa 1975. For most of that time it was owned by a member in Chester who took it too many RSR and local rallie...

Re: Curly Attachment Hooks 1938 10hp Coupe

Hi Chris I think I know exactly what you are talking about and Den is right. I had a 1935 speed14 coupe and still have a 1935 14 coupe, both cars had/have the type of hooks you describe and yes they support the drop down boot lid. The straps consist of a thickish wire (about 10 strands) covered in c...

Jubilee Rally 30th June 2013

What a fantastic event, superb weather, great site, and a splendid display of Rover cars and bicycles across the ages. My sincere congratulations to our Committee and the P6 owners club for organising such a splendid day, well done, in particular I cannot remember the last time I saw such a large tu...

Re: Rover 10hp 1935 Model ' Archive '

Hi Chris Thanks for this info, but fyg I already have a note of this car on the RSR archive database. When I was the pre 1950 registrar back in 1996 I was contacted by a Mr A. Billington who lived in Llandovery, he was not a member but had owned this Rover 10 for many years, along with about a dozen...

Re: Drop Head Coupes

Hi there

According to Edmonds website this DHC did not sell at their auction last week. It does not say what bidding reached but assume it did not reach the owners reserve?? Anybody know??

Drop Head Coupes

Seems DHC's are flavour of the month as I see on Richard Edmonds website they have one for sale in their auction on 2nd March. This is a 1934 Tickford Speed 14 Coupe with triple carbs, looks in VGC following a major restoration some 10 years ago and the price guide of £22/25,000 is probably realisti...
