Free wheel cable

Hi All, I have got my new dashboard finished and fitted, now begun to reinstall the cluster and fittings, question is when I try to feed the free wheel cable through the tube in the gearbox it hits the end of the spring loaded plunger and will go no further, do I need to dismantle the freewheel or s...

Re: Fitting Wiper Arms

Hi Tony, I suspected something along those lines, looks like I am missing some grommets, they may be among the several boxes of "stuff" that came with the car. Don't know about cutting her workload, I quite fancy a roadster as well so she may have to up her game! PS: If you never hear from me again ...

Fitting Wiper Arms

Hi all, 1935 Rover 12 is coming along, talk about opening a can of worms!! I have had to sell the house and get the wife 3 part time jobs to finance the project. Latest issue I can't fathom.......I have the tandem wiper arms with the tightening nuts to the front, how do these fit onto the shaft of t...

Re: Engine oil choice

Thanks Geoff,

So, head on the block, using your industry knowledge, in 2019 which oil should I put in my 1935 12?

Or, considering the very low mileage most vehicles of this age will be doing is it at all important and do we have unnecessary concerns about using the "correct" products?

Re: And todays question is.......(drum roll)

Thanks Tony, I suspected the horn did screw off but when you apply a certain amount of pressure and nothing moves a voice in the back of your head whispers " you're going to break that" and you start to have doubts, I will have another go this evening. Your posts regarding the seats were very helpfu...

Re: And todays question is.......(drum roll)

I have cut a new dash out of hardwood faced ply, I was advised solid hardwood may be prone to distorting, just need to get it stained and varnished, not sure whether to stain it the same colour as the trims above the dash and the trims to the doors which are a dark mahogany colour or to have it cont...

Re: VIN number 1935 Rover 12

Tony, I located the number on the bulkhead and the one on the engine, they are both the same and the same number as shown on the original green log book, starting with a 5 as you say. So I will send them this information together with a couple of photographs and hopefully they will be satisfied and ...

Re: VIN number 1935 Rover 12

Thanks for the information. The plate screwed to the bulkhead states "car number 51....", is this the number I should give to the DVLA? I wouldn't want to give them anything which may lead to any confusion as you know what they are like, give them half a reason and before you know it you have the sp...
