Re: Wiring Loom

Rewired our 16 with an Autosparks loom in 1993, at that time they hadn't made a 16 loom but had made 10 and 12 hp P2 looms. They added length to the underbonnet section on my request and since our car is an export model there were a couple of additional matters from memory relevent to the positionin...

Re: LEAKING PETROL TANK

Facing similar issues in the 1980's I successfully used an Eastwoods product involving three phases of scaling, etching and a sort of polymer sealing. After almost 30 years our tank is still leak-free This company as you may know disappeared for a time but Frost Automotive do retail some of their pr...

Re: Bringing a 1939 '10 engine back to life

Mark, I Was born in King Lynn, a very , very , very long time ago. Climate in Norfolk allows wonderful things to happen and many dry days throughout the year are probably taken for granted, old car wise, with few if any of the constraints affecting our use of our cars way up here i imagine. Arguably...

Re: Bringing a 1939 '10 engine back to life

Yes, last week's weather has been a challenge, Portree fortunate with Storr Loch Hydro scheme meaning we virtually got away with situation. Elsewhere on Skye as you know only too well without power for up to 40 plus hours and compounding that Dunvegan area no water either! You are always welcome to ...

Re: Bringing a 1939 '10 engine back to life

Shame work has to stop. Hopefully you won't need the incentive of a pal arriving to recommence. Clutch might be a problem involving gear box out...freeing a seized clutch by severe means without opening things up is a bold adventure necessitating as you know some non - gentle machinations....hurtful...

Re: Bringing a 1939 '10 engine back to life

Compared with what we found on our 16's engine on strip down in late 1985 (it was firing eventually on 5 cylinders when we drive it from Antwerp to Brussels and burning copious amounts of oil) you seem to have a useable engine Stuart. Pity the spark plugs had been out for so long but Skye's dampness...

Re: Radials on a P2

This Is a perennial.....since 1985 tramlines on motorways in mainland Europe and England (since we have no motoways in the Highlands...of Scotland.) has been a real pain in the ---- with our 16. I drove like an old movie actir in old films with the steering wheel moving to take account of the cars r...
