Re: 12hp Tourer #110 (the blue one)
The saga continues. The electronic kit is fitted to the distributor & now the starter is playing up! (See new post). Try it on the handle to check for a spark... Although new engine mounts were fitted last year & the Starting handle fitted...it now will not engage sufficiently into the crank dog! So...

Starter Motor
I have one that is playing up (not engaging) & it appears that the "clutch" (pinion & sleeve 255672 / sleeve & rubber 290081 may be the culprits. It whirrs strongly & tries to engage, but mostly doesn't! I have the starter off, but have not stripped it, The motor is a later (1950) one...possibly a L...

Re: External oil filter
So…. Does this kit fit an OHV P2 engine? Or just the new generation overhead inlet side exhaust?
Removal of the Luvax automatic lubrication may be a red herring as that only lubricates the chassis and has nothing to do with the engine apart from using manifold pressure/vacuum as it’s power source…

Re: 1947 14 P2 Coolant and fuel pump questions
Was the electric pump not specified for export P2’s? My tourer was destined for export, but sold to UK market & has one on the scuttle with a manifold heat shield. Near the tank sounds better to avoid vaporising ( probably not a problem with 1947 fuel! Very low octane) Yours will be a “push” type pu...

Re: 12hp Tourer #110 (the blue one)
Failure at first attempt! No spark. Now the weather is a bit cooler I feel more inclined to try again! Connected up as per instructions...I had to lengthen the wires from the unit on the distributor to reach the coil,,, A complication is that I have a "security" switch wired to the coil that allows ...
