Re: oil for differential

In my Austin Sevens (1927-1932) I use Castrol EP140 in the back axle and a straight SAE30 in gearbox & engine sold as "Lawn Mower oil!" Around £18 for 5 litres delivered Amazon! RocWood. There are others!

Re: 1934 Rover 12 Now engine running ????

Amazing how often spaghetti wiring works! trouble is it fails in the dark when it is raining! Fuses and relays are the way to go as you rewire (and keep a record of how you do it....you will NOT remember! trust me!
You are getting there!

Re: Rover 12 clutch and flywheel

The flywheel doesn't look scored in the photo so a simple clean up may well suffice, but I would at least replace the centre assembly as you have the clutch apart! If the pressure plate is readily available change that too...it & it's springs do much of the work!

Re: 1929 10/25 Jumping out of 3rd gear

If it is missing the question is ....Where is it! Possibly in the bottom of the gearbox....not good if it decides to have a look round the inside of the box! Drain the oil & see if anything untoward comes out. A small magnet glued into the drain plug may help...as used in early Minis. Most instructi...

Re: Newly signed in

Thank you for that information, but sadly the car is long sold & the advert (& the dealer!) a bit of a waste of space! I have read some of Luli's posts....what a guy! I will probably put a feeler out in the classifieds here. Sadly the pre-war Speed 14 is not a project for me....pity it will be a fin...

Re: Newly signed in

Ian, sorry!
I really want a tourer. I have a 1955 ZA Magnette for my saloon needs & it will cruise all day at 70 and my 1932 Austin Seven Tourer is for sale as it is fun, but really best for pottering!
Thanks for the thought

Re: Speed 14 steering, brakes & performance

Thank you Tony, Yes I saw that one advertised & spoke to the advertiser. I sounds a great project & a sympathetic revival- I would love to take it on , but I need to stay married! I think if the mechanicals are put in order it could be a great "oily rag" car, everything seems to be there. I have jus...
